Therapautic Joints Pain Relief

Painful joints

Pain may occur in any part of the body and has various causes. One of the possible causes is the inflammation in the joints caused by arthrosis/ erosion, bursitis or tendinitis.

Bursa plays the role of the joints lubricant between the bones and tendons and is filled with synovial fluid, essential for absorbing impact forces during movements. Its inflammation is very painful.

The tendon connects a muscle with the bone and has the role of transforming muscular contractions into the bones movements. It has solid, white-glazing structure and can have round or flat form. On the parts where it experience extreme frictional force, it is enforced by tendon sheath.

Kenacort injections

In recent years, the doctors of Amsterdam Tourist Doctors developed remarkable skills in treatments with so called Kenacort injections. These injections offer relief from enduring and crippling joints pain by reducing inflammation process, with the corticosteroids as the main component. An anesthetic is applied simultaneously and is usually worn off after several hours. The effect of corticosteroids starts after approximately 48 hours. It is important to point out that this treatment does not cure the disease, but only gives the relief for the next several weeks or months. By performing certain therapeutic exercises and following advices during that period, symptoms may be improved or even may disappear.

The treatment* lasts approximately 15 minutes.

A Kenacort injection is not included in the price of a consultation; a surcharge applies.
